Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino parted ways on Tuesday evening.
Former Chelsea captain John Terry has told club owners what to do after Mauricio Pochettino’s shock exit.
On Tuesday evening, Pochettino’s shock departure from Chelsea was confirmed after both parties decided to terminate their working relationship via mutual consent.
The Stamford Bridge club will now be working around the clock behind the scenes in a bid to select the perfect replacement for Pochettino ahead of the new season.
Reacting to the Argentine’s exit, former England captain and Chelsea legend Terry has given a bit of advice to the Blues’ owners.
He wrote on social media: “Gutted to see @pochettino, @jpp_71, @sebpochettino leave.
“I just hope we don’t sign or sell any players until we get a manager in.”
Upon announcing Pochettino’s tenure was over, Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season.
“He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge any time and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.”
Meanwhile, Pochettino said: “Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club’s history.
“The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come.”
Chelsea have since been linked with the likes of Kieran McKenna, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim and Thomas Frank for their vacancy.
Speaking about his future, McKenna told Sky Sports: “Look, the club has had such a positive season and has such a positive future ahead.
“We’ve achieved so much, it’s been an incredible two years. When you have success like that there always comes speculation and things like that, we’ve seen that every summer.”
